VERHEY, Francis - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Attica - Francis Verhey, 77 of 124 David Drive, Attica, died at9:15 a.m. Saturday in Community Hospital.  He had been in ill health since December.  A retired farmer, Mr. Verhey had recently worked as a part time farmer for Merl and Carl Brier.  Born in Richland Township, Fountain County Feb 18, 1911 he had lived west of Newtown most of his life. He attended school in Newtown, Beulah and Rob Roy.  On April 4, 1938 he was married in Williamsport to Dorothy E. Bayless who survives.  Also surviving are four brothers, Lawrence Verhey of Crawfordsville, Bernard and Howard Verhey both of Attica and Harry (Verhey) of Wingate; and three sisters, Mrs. Robert (Louise) Cooper of Sterling, Ind; Mrs. Christine Pearson of Newtown and Mrs. Irene Spence of Attica.    ---kbz
