WILLIAMSPORT -- Nellie VanLeer, 76, of Rt.2, Williamsport, died Monday evening at Community Hospital in Williamsport.
She was born April 11, 1893, in Vermillion County, Ill., the daughter of Alvin and Dora Johnson Roderick. She was married Dec. 27, 1922 to Jessie Elton VanLeer, who proceded her in death on June 22, 1965. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Marshfield.
urviving are six sons, Elton, of marshfield; Herbert, Williamsport; Francis, Merle and Richard, all of Rt. 2, Williamsport, and Howard of Lemore, Calif.; one sister, Delta Taylor, of Rt.2 Williamsport, and one brother, Albert Roderick, Rt.2, Williamsport. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursdayat the Crowmer-Siddens Chapel in West Lebanon, with Rev. Grover Williams Jr. and Rev. Theodore Simonion officiating. Interment will follow in West Lebanon Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel.
