COVINGTON – Charles Wesley Winters, 50, son of a Covington couple, died Wednesday in Illinois Research Hospital at Chicago. Mr. Winters was a veteran of World War II and was educated in West Lebanon schools. He was born near Perrysville on July 29, 1925, a son of Fred and Flossie Hankins Winters. Surviving with the parents are a son, Charles of Lockport, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. Carol Ann Christopher of Carpentersville, Ill.; two brothers, James Winters of West Bend, Wis., and John Winters of St. Louis; six sisters, Mrs. Wanda Brown of Elmhurst, Ill., Mrs. Richard (Gayle) Gantner of Waukeegan, Ill., Mrs. Charlotte Chaffin of St. Louis, Jerry (Brenda) Sharkey of West Bend, George (Rita) Whyte of Round Lake, Ill., and Mrs. Willie Frieda Rinewand of West Bend; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home here with burial in Coal Creek Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Friday. -– jlr
