The body of St. Wayne T. Marsh arrived in Veedersburg on Wednesday January 5 for memorial services and final burial. His body was returned from temporary interment in England where he was killed on September3,
1944 at the age of 28.  Sgt. Marsh was born in Veedersburg on December 24, 1915, the son of Elmer and Esta Gookins Marsh.  He attended Veedersburg schools and graduated from VHS in 1934. He married in 1938
Miss Dorothy Gardner of Covington. Before his induction into the Army on June 29, 1942 he was an employee of the Farm Bureau Co-op as a rural deliverer of Petroleum products and was a member of the K. of P. Lodge.

Before being sent overseas in January 1943, he was stationed at Ft. Bragg in NC; Camp Riley in Minnesota; and Lockbourne Air Base, Columbus, Ohio. He was sent overseas with the Eighth Air Force.  Besides his
parents, survivors include one sister, Mrs. Mable Allen, Veedersburg, one brother, Ramon Marsh, Veedersburg; nieces LaDonnah Dee Marsh and Jane Carole Allen; and one nephew, Sharrole Lee Allen.  He was preceded in death by one sister, Louise and one brother, Louis.  Upon arrival in Veedersburg the body was taken to the Fishero Funeral Home where it will remain until the final services on Friday January 7 at the Christian Church at 1:30 p.m. The body will lie in state one hour preceding services. Chaplain Dinwiddie of Elliotsville and Rev. Wire of the Methodist Church will officiate and burial will be in Rockfield Cemetery
