HILLSBORO -- Donald Johns, 56, of Hillsboro, died Monday (Oct. 8, 1973) at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He had been a patient a short time after being stricken at his home. Death was attributed to natural causes. Born Sept. 16, 1917, in Hillsboro, he was the son of Orville and Von Nine Johns. He was a graduate of Hillsboro High and was a veteran of service with the Army Engineers during World War II in the Philippines. He had been employed as a bookkeeper for the Osborn Lumber Co. and was a member of the Christian Church, Masonic Lodge 385 and Boosters Club. He had never married. Survivors include two brothers, Paul of Denver, Colo., and Robert N. of Hillsboro. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Crumley-Williams Funeral Home. The Rev. Jerome McCoy will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Wednesday.--waw
