Veedersburg - Russell W. (Rink) Hankins died at his home in Veedersburg 6 p.m. Tuesday. He had worked at his job at RMC, Attica and was working in his yard when stricken. Mr. Hankins was born April 20, 1909 in Veedersburg, the son of Homer and Amelia Leath Hankins. He was married to Doris Linker June 30, 1930, in Fountain County. He was preceded in death by a daughter, his parents and two sisters. He was a Navy veteran of WWII, a member of the Crawfordsville Masons and First United Methodist Church in Veedersburg. Surviving are his wife, one brother, Harry of Veedersburg; five sisters, Mrs. Fauniel Booe, Danville, Ill; Mrs. Mary Crane, Lake Alfred, Fla; Mrs. Etoral Ferguson, Marshall, Ind; Mrs. Mabel O'Dell, Sacramento, Calif; Mrs. Barbara McFadden, Jersey City, NJ and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Parham Funeral Home with Rev. Ivan Steed offiiating. Burial was in Rockfield Cemetery near Veedersburg.
