Covington- Granville O. "Bud" Grubbs, 70, of Covington, a retired electrician, died early today in Veterans hospital, Danville, Ill. He was a member of the First Church of Christ at Covington and was a veteran of WWII. Mr. Grubbs was born in Troy Township, Fountain County May 7, 1907 a son of Granville P. and Mary Birdie Maiden Grubs. He was married to Dollie C. Laird March 1, 1930. She survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Clifford (June) Stephens Jr of Kokomo; Mrs. John (Betty) Linne of Danville and Mrs. Blair (Carolyn Ann) Stiffler of Jeffersonville; two sons, Quentin of New Buffalo, Ill and Charles of North Ft. Myers, Fl; a sister, Reatha Powell of Rt 1, Covington and 12 grandchildren. Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home at Covington with Chaplain John Divine officiating. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Family requests memorials be made in the form of donations to the Heart Association.
