WWII-MI-BARKER, Austin E.

Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Barker of Veedersburg were notified Saturday that their son, Corporal Austin E. Barker, serving in the infantry had been wounded in action in Germany.

He had both legs broken above the knee and is now in an Army hospital in England.

The local soldier left the United States two months ago, landing in France and moving into Germany.  He was wounded on April 19.
