WWII-KIA-REED, Ralph

Covington, April 3 (1945) - Pfc. Ralph Reed, age 34, husband of Mrs. Clara Reed, of Covington was Killed In Action in Germany on Fe 25, according to a message from the War Department received by Mrs. Reed Monday. Previously, he had been reported Missing In Action.  Pfc. Reed had been in the service less than a year, entering April 13, 1944.  Following basic infantry training, he was shipped overseas in Sep 1944 and overseas to the 29th Infantry Division of the 9th US Army.  Surviving in addition to his wife, is a small son, Roger.  His mother, Mrs Scott Smith and sister, Mrs. Mildred Hancock, both of Veedersburg also survive.  Pfc. Reed was a graduate of Tangier HS.
