Funeral services were held at West Point Wednesday for Pfc. Dwight S. Mitchell Jr. who died at the Nichols General Hospital in Louisville, Ky where he had been a patient three months. Death came as the result of
wounds he received July 30 while serving with the US Army in France. Pfc. Mitchell was 20 years old and was the son of Dwight and Rilla Cheeseman Mitchell. The father, a former resident of Veedersburg, now resides in Lafayette. Surviving besides the parents are two sisters, Mildred now with the Woman's Revere Marine Corps and Mrs. Harry Walker.
