Waynetown, Sept. 12. — Pfc. Gwendolyn McKee, 32, husband of Mrs. Maxine Graves McKee, who was killed in action in France Aug. 23, was born at Veedersburg April 9, 1912, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ransom McKee. He spent his boyhood in Veedersburg and Steam Corner. In 1924 the family moved to the Stanfield farm south of Waynetown where Pfc. McKee resided until he enlisted in the army. He began his service with the armed forces March 5, 1942, and was sent to France in July, 1944, after serving in Wales and England since Oct. 9, 1943. Training in this country was at Camp Livingston, La., Camp Gordon Johnston, Fla., and Camp Pickett, Va. Pfc. McKee was a graduate of the Waynetown high school, and a member of the school basketball team two years. The widow, and the parents reside on the Stanfield farm, south of here.
