He later graduated and received his wings at Moody Fields, GA. After taking advanced training, he was sent to overseas duty with the 8th AF stationed in England. Lt. Furr was born in Veedersburg Jan 15, 1924 and was the son of Freedman and Edna Clickner Furr. He graduated from the local high school where he was a star on the Veedersburg basketball team. He also was a member of the Christian Church. Surviving are his parents, three brothers, Jack Furr and James Furr at home; Myron Furr, who was recently discharged from the Navy; one sister, Mrs. Naomi Kesner of Veedersburg and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Mollie Furr also of Veedersburg - kbz
