Pfc Donn G. Bishop, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. George L. Bishop of Mellott has been Missing in Action in Italy since February 23, according to a message received by the parents from the War Department Tuesday. The
last word received from Pfc Bishop was a letter written in Italy on February 14. He entered the service on March 4, 1843 (sic - 1943) and landed in Africa in September. Since November 5, he had been with the Fifth Army in Italy. A graduate of Mellott HS, Pfc. Bishop later studied journalism for two years at Indiana University before entering the army.
