WWII - KIA-ALLEN, Hansel

Hansel Allen, 25-year-old Veedersburg soldier was killed in action in the NW Africa sector of Sept 11, according to word received late Monday by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Homer All n, who reside on a farm 6 miles SW of Veedersburg. No details of the death were contained in the telegram from the war department but it was presumed  hat he lost his life in the battle of Salerno, Italy which would be included in the NW African theatre of war. The young man, together with his brother, Morris Allen was inducted into the army in
Oct 1942. The two were together until recently when Morris had been ill and in a hospital.  Survivors include the parents, two brothers, Morris and Euiln, who are at home and a sister, Mrs. Oveta Norris of Kingman.
