Attica, Dec. 28 – Pfc. John S. Harman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar P. Harman Attica RR 3, is reported Missing In Action in France since Dec 5.  He was inducted April 28, 1943, and after basic training at Camp Robinson and two semesters of ASTP, schooling at the Citadel, was assigned to the 397th Infantry of the 100th Division at Fort Bragg.  On Sept 28, he was given the rating of Expert Infantryman and arrived overseas Oct 2, 1943.  After graduating from the Pine Village HS in 1941, he attended Indiana University two years where he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega, Delta Sigma Pi and Kappa Kappa Psi fraternities.

Attica, May 4 – Pvt John S. Harman was Killed In Action in Germany April 8, according to word received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar P. Harman, Attica, RR 3.  He had previously been reported missing.  In May of 1943 he entered the Army and received his basic training at Camp Robinson, Ark.  He was assigned to a rifle company in the 397th Infantry of the 100 Division in March of 1944 at Fort Bragg, NC. On Sept 28, 1944, he as given the rating of expert infantryman and arrived overseas in October of 1944.  He was given the combat infantry badge last December.  After graduating from the Pine Village High School, he attended Indiana University two years where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega.  He was a member of the Pine Village Methodist Church.
