Attica news -- Russell Carlson, who accompanied the body of Earl Faulkner, who was killed in Vietnam to ATtica for services and burial has left for Ft. Carson, Colo, where he will complete his military service. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Carlson Sr Rt 1, Attica.

Forest - The Dept. of Defense Tuesday announced the death of Army Spec 4 Earl Eugene Faulkner, 21, of Attica as a result of enemy action in Vietnam.  Spec Faulkner is the son of Mrs. ELizabeth B. Alter, Forest. According to official sources, he died July 4 in a military hospital in Vietnam. He had been assigned to an engineering company of the 25th Infantry Division stationed near the Cambodian border.  Before entering the service on June 19, 1966, he had been employed by the Midwest Vending Co. He attended Attica HS.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his stepfather, Ray Alter, Forest; two sisters, Mrs. Paulette Green, Attica and Mrs. Rebecca Spradlin, Pine Knot, Ky; five half brothers, Charles Faulkner, Lafayette; Michael Alter and Phillip Alter, both of Kokomo; Billy Joe Alter, Forest and Charles Alter Frankfort; a brother, Robert currently in Vietnam; a half sister, Mrs. Joyce Bennet, Kokomo; two grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Faulkner, Lafayette. The body is being returned to Sutter Funeral Home, Attica.  Final arrangements will be announced upon its arrival.
