Barney J. Hutts, 45, of Lexington, Ill., a former resident of Attica and Lafayette, died Saturday Dec. 10, 1977 at Brokam Hospital in Lexington of an apparent heart attack. Born May 16, 1932, in Attica, he was the son of Ted R. and Emma P. Willis Hutts. He married Janet Sue Escret on April 6, 1964 in Delphi. She survives. Other survivors include three sons, Anthony, Steven and Richard; five daughters, Teresa Hutts, Patti Kay Hutts, Janet Marlene Hutts, Laura Hutts and Kimberly Hutts; two brothers, Jessie J. of Attica and Ted of Logansport; and two sisters, Mrs. Ed (Clara Belle) Skipworth of Terre Haute and Juanita Dickerson of Phoenix, Ariz. He had attended Attica Schools and had been employed as a mechanic for the past 18 years. The family had moved to Lexington three years ago. An army veteran he had served in the Korean War. He attended the Nazarene and Baptist Churches. Services at the Maus Funeral Home with the Rev. Everett Ashley officiating. Burial in Riverside Cemetery.
