War Deaths not listed - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Official lists of Indiana soldiers and sailors are not available in Washington or elsewhere. The following names have been compiled from a thorough examination of newspapers and if there are errors of omission it is due to the fact that records in Washington have not yet been segregated by states so as to be quickly available. The Star presents the following list as the most complete available at this time. Note: These are only those from Fountain, Montgomery and Putnam Counties.

Lt. William E.G. COOPER, Hillsboro, died in action July 31, 1918.

William C. DOUGLAS, Attica, died in service Dec 31, 1917.  

Lt. Russell H. DWIGGINS, Waynetown died in service April 4, 1918.  

Aetna ELMORE, Crawfordsville died in service Jan 22, 1918.

Pvt. William FULTON, Covington died in service July 27, 1918.

Paul GRIMES, Greencastle died in action June 14, 1918.  

Corporal Daniel MILLER, Crawfordsville died in service Jan 22, 1918.

Corporal Harry R. MOORE, Greencastle, died in service July 31, 1918.

Maurice O’CONNOR, New market, died in service April 18, 1918.  

Sgt Perry B. SNYDER, Greencastle died in action Aug 28, 1918.  

Lt. Col. Robert P. Youngman, Crawfordsville died in service Jan 29, 1918.
