Covington Aug 12 - Al Noble, city marshal received a letter from his son, Walter Noble, who is in the service in France in which the son told his father that he had met Lon Dunbar over there and that Dunbar had told him of being taken to Ft. Benjain Harrison and turned over to the military authorities following his arrest for desertion. Dunbar, it will be recalled deserted from Ft. Alton, and was later picked up west of here by the Covington police. Marshal Noble took him to Indianapolis where he was fined, according to the story he told the marshal's son, $100. He is making a good soldier and says that he is glad to be back in the service.
