GSHR_Victor Brian PUGH


PUGH, Victor Brian -- Son of John and Mary Black Pugh; born in Covington, Ind. (Date not known). Entered Canadian Expeditionary Force April 1, 1918. Assigned to Machine Gun Corps, 2nd Training Battalion. Went overseas and was killed in action August 8, 1918. (Burial place unknown.) Some supplemental information found on the "The Western Front Association" website: 105958 Pte Victor Brian Pugh, 2nd Bn Canadian MGC. Born in Covington , Indiana (USA) on 24 January 1899, Victor was a farmer living at Halbrite, Saskatchwen at the time of his enlistment. Enlisting at Regina, Sask. on 28 March 1916, Victor was sent to France on 1 April 1918 with the 2nd Bn CMGC. He was killed in action during the allied advance near Marcelcave on 8 August 1918. Victor is now buried at Wood Cemetery, Marcelcave, Somme. 8 August 1918
