Enlisted in U.S. Regular Army May 10, 1914, Jefferson Barracks, Mo. Trained at Ft. Screven, Ga.; assigned to Replacement Draft, Coast Artillery Corps. Went down with transport Otranto October 6 1918, off Irish Coast. Buried at Savannah, Ga. Survived by widow, Marie Ray, and daughter Agnes, Savannah, Ga.
