GUY EDGAR SMITH -- Son of Edgar and Rose Palmer Smith; born June 5, 1896, Steam Corner, Fountain County, Ind. Mechanic. Entered service October 5, 1917, Louisville, Ky.; assigned to Company C, 309th Field Signal Battalion. Promoted to Sergeant. Overseas in September, 1918. Sent to Scotland; then to France. Assigned to Company C, 9th Field Signal Battalion, 5th Division. Died of pneumonia February 18, 1919, Evacuation Hospital, Walferdange Luxembourg, Germany.
