Frank T. KIGHT -- Son of Purley and Verna Kight; born August 10, 1896, Cataract, Owen County, Ind. Living in Fountain County, when he enlisted in U.S. Regular Army May 7, 1917, Jefferson Barracks, Mo. Assigned to Battery C, 6th Field Artillery. Overseas in July, 1917; attached to 1st Division. His battery is reported to have fired the first shot after the American forces opened fire on the enemy in November, 1917. Gassed. Invalided home; died March 31, 1918, Ft. McHenry, Md. Buried, Attica, Ind.
