EDWARD MERRYMAN -- Son of John Edward and Harriet Ellen Merryman; born October 20, 1888, Attica, Ind. Laborer. Entered service September 17, 1917, Covington, Ind. Sent to Camp Taylor, Ky.; assigned to 30th Company, 8th Training Battalion, 159th Depot Brigade. Transferred to Camp Shelby, Miss. Overseas in June, 1918; assigned to Company H, 23rd Infantry, 2nd Division. Participated in battle of Thiacourt, and Mont Blanc Ridge. Died of pneumonia November 23, 1918. (Burial place unknown.)
