CHARLES H. FORREST -- Son of Millard Fillmore (deceased) and Emily Forrest; born August 23, 1888; Scott County, Ind. Moved to Fountain County in October 1899. Farmer. Entered service September 21, 1917, Covington, Ind. Sent to Camp Taylor, Ky; transferred to Camp Shelby, Miss; assigned to Company A; 104th Inf; 26th Division. Overseas in May 1918. Killed In Action October 17, 1918; Argonne Forest. Buried in Haumond Wood. Survived by one daughter, Fannie.

Veedersburg Aug 12 - Charles Forrest, member of Company A, 104th Infantry, 26th Division has been reported as severely wounded on July 20.  He is 30 years old and is the youngest son of Mrs. Millard Forrest.  His mother lives on a small farm one mile north of Veedersburg. He enlisted Sept 23, 1917 and sailed for France May 2, 1918.  He was ordered into the trenches on July 3 and was wounded on the 20th.  Before enlisting he was engaged in erected steel pipes, etc in various parts of the country. He was unmarried.  Two brothers and a sister survive
