ALVEY GRESSMIRE -- Son of Josiah and Nancy Gressmire; born March 29 1888, near Chambersburg, Fountain County, Ind. Employe of Chicago and Eastern Illinois Railroad. Called into service October 4 1918, Covington, Ind. Sent to Camp Taylor, Ky.; assigned to 30th Company, 8th Training Battalion, 159th Depot Brigade. Transferred to Camp Shelby, Miss.; assigned to 64th Engineers. Overseas in March, 1918. Died of pneumonia February 13, 1919, Gievres, France, Camp Hospital No. 43.
