Covington, Oct 23 - Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Kendrick have received a telegram from the war department stating that their son, Albert J. Kendrick had died October 4 from pneumonia in France. He was about 23 years old and was sent from this city with a contingent of selected men to Camp Taylor, Louisville, Ky last June. After a few weeks in this training camp he embarked for overseas and landed in England. He wrote regularly to his parents and the last letter they received from him he was in splendid health and greatly enjoying the life of a soldier. The announcement that he had passed away came as a great shock not only to his parents but to the community as well. Besides his father and mother he is survived by one brother. – kbz
