Louis C. and Anne Jane Cassidy,
to: Nathaniel S. Johnson.
"Hendricks County land, signed July 31, 1847,
recorded Oct 16, 1847. This deed is among other
deeds of my Great Great Grandfather John Shockley
of Eel River & Union Township. John Shockley
and his brother George W. arrived in Hendricks and
Boone County in 1852 from Rush County. I can only
surmise that John Shockley later purchased
this land and the seller, Johnson, just
handed over his old deed with the new one as proof
of title."Comment by

"No man but feels more of a man in the world if he have a bit of ground
that he can call his own. However small it is on the surface, it is four
thousand miles deep; and that is a very handsome property."
