 Finley Broderick was born November 17, 1840 in Warren Co., Indiana. He moved to Rock Island, Illinois probably with his family. That is where he enlisted in the civil war. He was a carpenter by trade. He married Mary Robley 1865. Their children were: Leonard, Effie, Daisy, Lorraine and Robert LeRoy.  I'm presently doing research on a surname of GAGE. There was a Charles GAGEand Susannah HOPKINS who lived in Warren Co., Indiana in the late 1700's til their death. I cannot find any records of them in your area so far. They had two sons and one daughter by the names of Luke, John and Sarah. Their son Luke married a 1st wife named Catherine PITZER and had also lived in this area around 1850. If you have any info about this line I would greatly appreciate it. GEORGE W. GILKISON, pastor of Pine Village's Free Methodist Church. They lived on Lafeyette St. in Pine Village. ELIZA died in 1928 but when and where she is buried is unknown. John SOUTHARD was born in 1807 in Virginia.  He married Lucretia DAWSON in Warren County.  She was born in 1813 in Dearborn County, Indiana.  They had seven children.  They gradually migrated north into Benton and Jasper County, buying and selling land as they went.   They are both buried in the Mt. Gilboa cemetery in Benton County, about 7 miles south of Remington.  Some of the children remained in western Indiana, and some migrated to Harper County, Kansas.  Wish to find others related to this family.  I have many documented records and 8 generations.  Will share.

I am looking for information on Jackson ALLEN.  He was in the 1850 Warren County, Indiana census.  He may be the brother of my ancestor Jane Allen who married my John Carson; they were from Campbell County, Tennessee.  Jane's father, Samuel Allen, died about 1840 in Campbell County, Tennessee.  Jane Allen Carson died from complications from child birth to Jackson Carson.  Some people think that Jackson was named after Jane's brother.  All the Allens disappeared around the time of Samuel Allen's death.

Joseph ROBINSON b. ca 1777 in VA mar Jane ___ b. ca 1784 in SC.  Ch Joseph (1824-1869) and Rebecca.  They were on the 1850 Census for Warren Co. census.  By 1860 young Joseph is married to Mary JONES and is in Fulton Co., IL.  I believe Joseph and Jane had other children.  In 1867/1868 when Joseph went to Bourbon Co., KS to search for new land, he stopped in MO to visit with a brother, possibly Charles.  Is anyone else researching this family? I am looking for information on Charles Joshua High, he died approx. 1929.  Also info on Mary Jane Swartz, she died approx. 1930.   Also info on Goldie Dixon.  They all lived around Williamsport or West Lebanon.  They are grandparents of mine.

I'm looking for any information on the surname GALLOWAY.   I have found four generations in Crawfordsville, IN. George Thomas Galloway b. Feb. 24,1927.  Son of George Sexton Galloway b. Sept. 9, 1897 and Clenna M. Odle b. March 9, 1903 in Veedersburg, IN.  George is son of Elisha Potts Galloway b. Nov. 3, 1862 and Anna Sexton b. May 1860.   Elisha is son of George Galloway b. 1825-1845 and Eleanor Potts b. 1825-1845.  Four Galloway males all born in Crawfordsville.  Thanks! Mike

I'm looking for any information on the surname Odle.  My grand-mother Clenna M. Odle, was born March 9,1903 in Veedersburg, IN.  She married George Sexton Galloway of Crawfordsville, IN.  She had a twin named Lenna.  Her parents names are John Odle b. 1869-1870 and Mary M. My gggrandfather, Thomas Carvin CALHOUN, was born in Warren, Indiana 25 Aug 1860.  (I had assumed this to be the town of Warren, but it may be the county of Warren.)  His mother was Sarah Jane SUTTON.  I am looking for the name of his father and information on the CALHOUN and SUTTON families.

I am searching for information about my family who had a farm in Independence Indiana (in Warren County).  The family name is AREHART.  Edward Homer Arehart and his wife Catherine Patterson (maiden name) Arehart lived there.  They had the following children: Catherine had a daughter Mamie who was not an Arehart.  Catherine and Edward had Marguerite, Carl, Mary, Guy, Helen, Stella, and Alva.  The children were probably all born in Macon County, Illinois.  At least the first four were.  My grandfather Guy was born in Maroa, IL in 1909 (11/21).  Catherine may have died in Warren County around 1940.  Helen Arehart Handy and Charlie Handy bought the farm from Edward, who then moved to Fountain County in Attica Indiana.  He died in the early 1950s, probably in Fountain County, but maybe in Warren county if he was living with Marguerite at the time of his death.  He was in his early 80s at the time of his death. Marguerite Arehart Billings married Preston Billings and they lived in the family farm in West Lebanon, IN which I believe is in Warren County as well.

I am searching for information regarding Shepperd B. HAUN.  He died in March, 1864 in Warren Co.  He was married to Thursa McDaniel.  They were natives of Carter Co., TN.

Joel JAMES and Martha HANNON were married in 1832 in Warren Co., IN.   I am searching for information concerning this family.  Later, in 1892 in Vermillion Co., IL., a Joel James marrying Melvina CRITSER claims to be the son of this couple.  According to family tradition, Joel James the elder, was married three times and had 21 children.  I have the name of his third wife who was Philomelia RUGGLES whom he married in 1848 in Marshall Co., IN.; however, he only arrived in Marshall in 1838.  Where was he prior to this time?  Family tradition also says that he was the son of a Joel James and Sally SAMUELS, but I have been unsuccessful in finding this eldest Joel James.  The youngest Joel James probably lived in Tippacanoe, Cass, Warren, Marshall, and maybe Stark and St. Joseph Cos., IN. Joel James the elder probably lived in at least Marshall, Stark, St. Joseph, and maybe Warren Cos., IN.; and was born in Augusta Co., VA., in 1796.  The eldest Joel James has never been found.

I am seeking to prove that the Thomas COX and Elizabeth MUSGRAVE who md. Warren Co., IN, 13 Mar 1846, are my ancestors.  Their names and date of marriage match my known ancestors, Thomas B. COX (b. abt 1825, OH) and wife, Elizabeth, (b. abt 1825-9, VA), who had their first child, Emily Jane, born in Indiana, 7 Nov 1847.  They had three more ch. born in IN (John, Huldah, and James), before moving to Lyon Co., KS, abt 1857.  There they had Nathan (b. abt 1859), Cora (b. abt 1861), and Lucy (b. abt 1867).  Thomas B. COX may have had a brother named Nathan, b. abt 1825, OH.  Would appreciate any help or information.  Thank you..

Looking for information on DAVIS, William Jonathan b. ca. 1815, d.? Attica, Warren Co., IN and his wife, Elizabeth (MONTGOMERY) DAVIS b. 14 Apr 1820 Posey Co., IN, d.? Attica, Warren Co., IN.  Their children: William Robert, Elizabeth, John, Prettyman, Jonathan, George, and 2 unknown daughters.

I am seeking the marriage record of John HOLLOWAY and Mrs Elizabeth HARDESTY in Fountain or Warren Counties ca 1835 - 1838.   I believe that John and Elizabeth combined their first families (James Holloway, age 20, Isaac Horrdesty, age 17 in 1850 Jasper Co census) and produced jointly John D. age 11, William age 8, & Elizabeth I., age 7.  Family headed by John Holloway in Warren Co in 1840 census contains (among others) all the elements that make up the 1850 family. Family headed by John Holloway in Fountain Co in 1830 had older female than Elizabeth would have been and appears on page 149 along with 2 other Holloway and 7 Hardesty families in the same "neighborhood".

I am interested in exchanging information with anyone researching the above names in Warren County, Indiana and the surrounding area from the early 1800's to the present.

Would like to correspond with any CRAWFORD family researchers.  I'm particularly interested in the Nelson G. CRAWFORD family and his descendents, but also have quite a bit of information on the James CRAWFORD family and descendents.  Both families settled in Warren County about 1829.
