FARMER FOUND HANGED IN BARN North Manchester, May 18 – The body of Charles Walther, 46, was found hanging from a rafter in the barn at his farm home southeast of here early today. The body was discovered by his wife. Coroner Todd Bender of North Manchester is investigating. Walther was a World War veteran and had spent most of his life in this community. He is survived by the widow; one son, Harry J. Walther of near North Manchester; two brothers, Clarence and Glen Walther of near North Manchester and one sister, Mrs. L. E. Hillman of Huntington. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 pm (CST) at the Bender Funeral Home here with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Journal-Gazette, Fort Wayne, IN, May 19, 1940.
