Mother of county resident dies
Mrs. Dora Ellen Schroll, 84, of Servia, Ind., mother of Mrs. Merritt (Dorothy) Alger of route 3, died at 6:45 a.m. Sunday at the Wabash county hospital after an illness of two weeks.
She was born on April 15, 1887, the daughter of Theodore and Mary Heintz-Steller and was married to Ellery[sic] Schroll on May 20, 1911. Her husband preceded her in death on Feb. 9, 1969.
She was a member of the Servia Church of Christ.
Survivors include three daughters, two sons, one step-daughter, one sister, three brothers, 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Bender funeral home, North Manchester, with Rev. William McCoy and Rev. Starling Wamsley officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview cemetery, located near North Manchester. Friends may call at the Bender funeral home until the time of the services.
