Ralph Powell, 79 Father of Bluffton resident Mrs. Earl (Jane) Harris of Bluffton, Ralph Powell, 79, Lagro, died Tuesday, Oct. 12, at Florida Hospital, Orlando, Fla. Born April 30, 1925 in lagro to Orange and Addie Mae Joh Powell, his marriage to the former velva Rinearson took place in Lagro April 23, 1949. She survives. A groundskeeper for the Metropolitan School District of Wabash, he retired in 1985 after 34 years with Brown From Wabash. A member of the Lagro Presbyterian Church, he attended the Lincolnville United Methodist Church. A World War II veteran, he retired from the Indiana National Guard after 22 years in the military and was awarded the Bronze Star. Additional survivors include a second daughter, Mrs. Doug (Minda) lehman, Wabash; two brothers, Guy Powell of Andrews and Russell Powell of Bloomington; a sister, Beck Behny of Wabash; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons. Six sisters and two brothers preceded him in death. Services at 10 a.m. Saturday will be held at Lincolnville United Methodist Church in Lincolnville. There will be calling one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be at Memorial Lawns Cemetery in Wabash. Calling will also be held 2-8 p.m. Friday at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Home in Wabash. Memorials may be made to the Lincolnville United Methodist Church Building Fund.
