TAKES OWN LIFE IN WABASH HOME Wabash, April 12 – George Hapner, 69, died at 12:30 pm today at his home here, three hours after shooting himself in the forehead with a .22-caliber rifle. Todd Bender of North Manchester, Coroner of Wabash County said his verdict would be suicide. Ill health was believed to have been the motive. Hapner was alone at the time of the shooting and was found a few minutes later by his wife who had been shopping. The body was removed to the Wire Funeral Home.
