Samuel Butterbaugh A shocking streak of lightning, resulting in the death of Samuel Butterbaugh, occurred at the latter's home at Roann, last Thursday night, during the storm. The night being very warm, Mr. B., preferred to occupy a pallet on the kitchen floor. The bolt struck the flue and following down the stove pipe and stove and striking Mr. B., killing him instantly. Geo. Pelden, a hand employed by Mr. B, also living near him, was considerably bruised and buried with the fluid, having his shirt fired and burned badly, but the latter's injuries were not serious as he soon recovered consciousness. The carpet was also fired in the room, but was soon put out by the family. The deceased was a well to do and highly respected citizen of that community and his death is a sad one; he leaves a wife and two children who have sympathy of all.
