Alice Carrie (Houchin) Thorne
was born August 27, 1856 in Helt Township to Jesse and Elizabeth
Jackson Houchin. She lived in the Tennessee Valley Baptist
Church vicinity all of her life. She united with the church
in February 1877 at the age of 20. On October 28,
1880, she married Frank P. Thorne, son of John J. and Julia Watson
Thorne. They were the parents of one son, Lawrence
William Thorne. She died July 29, 1922 as a result of falling
9 weeks prior and receiving a broken hip. She is buried in
Bono Cemetery.
Rosalie Houchin
William Ewing Houchin
born April 16, 1861 to Jesse and
Elizabeth Jackson Houchin in Indiana. The cause of death is
not known, but he died just 22 days after his brother, Daniel V.
Houchin. He died January 7, 1882 in Indiana. He is buried in
Pisgah Cemetery.
John Houchin
John S. Houchin was born September 18, 1848 in Vermilion County,
Illinois. He married Endora A. Johnson September 22, 1867 in
Vermillion County, Indiana. They had a daughter, Lena
Houchin. For most of his life he was listed as a farmer, but in
1917 and 1920 he was listed as a Justice of the Peace. He died in
1931 in Indiana. He is buried in Pisgah Cemetery.
