HILLSDALE - Joan Milligan Gilbert, 66, of Hillsdale died at 11:52 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, 1997, in Union Hospital in Terre Haute. She was born Oct. 28, 1930, in Newport to Lee Pearman and Telsa Crowder Pearman. Her first husband, Gerald Milligan, died in 1979. Survivors include her husband, Bill Gilbert; one son, Robert Davis; one daughter, Dianna Bond; two stepsons, Bill Gilbert Jr. and Dean Gilbert; one sister, Madge Hathaway; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Services are 2 p.m. Thursday in DeVerter Brothers Funeral Home in Cayuga, with the Rev. Wendell Adams officiating. Burial is in Thomas Cemetery in Newport. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today.
Howard Chapel Community — Miss Florence Victoria Gilmore, age 81, a native and almost life-resident of Highland Twp., Vermillion County, Ind., died at 9:40 a. m. Monday, May 6, at the Rudisill Nursing Home in Covington where she had been a patient since Dec. 27, 1962. She had been in ill health for six months. Miss Gilmore was born Sept. 19, 1881 in Highland Twp., Vermillion County, the daughter of Emory H. and Nancy A. Hughes Gilmore. She had never married and she was the last of a family of six. She was a member of the First Church of Christ of Covington, Perrysville Chapter 302, Order of Eastern Star, and the Jessamine Club of Perrysville. She had served as secretary of the Eastern Star Chapter for more than 30 years. All of her life, with the exception of two or three years in Iowa, had been spent in Highland Twp. The body is at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home where friends may call. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Thursday. Roger James, pastor of the First Church of Christ, Covington, will officiate and burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Covington.
Frank J. Ginn, 80, of 608 Binford St., was fatally stricken in the 500 block of East Market Street Monday afternoon. The fire department resuscitator squad was called, but he could not be revived.
A son of Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Ginn, he was born May 22, 1886 near Clinton. He was married three times. His first two wives, Jessie Mae Collings and Sarah Berry, are deceased. He was married in 1934 to Ann Gertrude Miller, who survives.
They lived the last 20 years in Crawfordsville. Mr. Ginn was employed by the T.C. & L. Trucking Co. here and later was a salesman first for the Harold Gray Agricultural Co. and then for the DeKalb Agricultural Assn., retiring in 1956. He was a school crossing guard three years at Market Street and Parke Avenue.
Surviving besides his wife are a son, David L. of this city; four daughters, Mrs. Roy Blaydes of Danville, Ind., Mrs. Joe Kendall of Montoursville, Pa., Mrs. Herman Peek of Edwardsville, Ill., and Mrs. Woody Taylor of Indianapolis; a brother, Allen Ginn of Torrance, Calif., and nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A brother, sister and grandson preceded Mr. Ginn in death.
The body is at Bright Funeral Home, where funeral arrangements are pending.
Blanche Goforth of Dana Dies - Blanche Goforth, 71, of Route 2, Dana, died at 3:30 a.m. Today in Vermillion County Hospital. She was born on September 14, 1909, in Indiana. She was a member of the Bono United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women's Society, Rebekah Lodge, and Happy Homemaker's extension club.
Surviving are her husband, Ed; one daughter, Joann McCullough of Indianapolis; one son, Ronnie Saxton of Terre Haute; several grandchildren; one sister, Mildred Wright of Clinton, and one brother, Lester Botner of Clinton.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Overpeck Funeral Home with Rev. Brent Harden officiating. Burial will be in Bono cemetery.

CLINTON, IND., - Services for Joseph Gormey, 70 years old, of 1213 Aloha Lane, Clearwater, Fla., who died Tuesday there, will be at 1:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the First Funeral Home. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. He was a member of Post No. 275 of the American Legion at Dunedien, Fla., and the First Christian Church of Clearwater. Surviving are the widow, Creloa L., formerly Mrs. Rolland Hayes of Clinton; five brothers, Adam, Andrew and Benjamin Gormey, all of Freeport, Tex.; Alfred and Lynn Gormey, both of Placios, Tex.; and four sisters, Mmes Eva West and Pearl Wiley, both of Placios; Grace Guidry of Baycliff, Tex., and Anna Rost of Houston, Tex. The body will arrive here Saturday morning.
Roy Leslie Gouty, age 70, 422 Second St., a life resident of the Covington vicinity, died suddenly and unexpectedly at 10:18 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Danville, Ill., where he had been admitted two minutes earlier. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Two years ago Mr. Gouty had suffered his first heart attack. He was born in Vermillion County, Ind., Aug. 7, 1892, the son of Joseph and Luella Hartman Gouly. He had been employed at and operated a restaurant in Covington for about three years. Recently he had been employed at Crains Plumbing & Heating firm until ill health forced him to retire. He was married July 14, 1915 to Mabel Strawser, who survives. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are: one daughter, Mrs. Eileen Poll of Covington Rt. 2; two grandsons, Duane and David Poll; and two sisters, Miss Inez Gouty of Covington Rt. 2 and Mrs. Ida Saltsgaver of Hillsboro. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. The body is at the Hegg Funeral Home where friends may call after 7 o'clock tonight, July 17. He will be taken to the Benson Chapel Methodist Church at 1 p.m. Friday where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. The Rev. Bill Moon will officiate and burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Vernon (Jack) Gouty, 71, life resident of Covington and community, died at 7:30 a. m., Saturday, May 11, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, where he had been a patient for 17 days. He had been in ill health for 5 years and seriously ill the past month. He was born April 15, 1886, in Highland Township, Vermillion County, to Daniel and Louella Sparks Gouty. He was married to Marie Martin on Jan. 27, 1929, and she survives. He was a member of the State Line Methodist Church. Surviving, in addition to the wife, are two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Schlensker of Danville and Mrs. Mary Stump of Valparaiso, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister. Funeral services were held Monday, May 13, at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home at 2:30 o'clock. The Rev. Glenn Ray and the Rev. C. R. Tallman officiated and burial was in Lower Mound Cemetery.

FRANK GREULICH Dies Saturday at Clinton Hospital
FRANK C. GREULICH, 62, of 232 Ash Street, died at the Vermillion County Hospital at 10:05 p.m. Saturday after an illness of a year.
Mr. Greulich, who was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Clinton, was also formerly a member of the Clinton Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by the widow, Gertrude; one son, Frank L. Greulich of Clinton; 2 daughters, Mrs. Ruth Gaboney of Crown Point, IN, and Miss Lena Greulich of Clinton; and 2 grandchildren.
The body was taken to the Frist Funeral Home where services will be held at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow. Rev. R.C. Linberg will officiate and burial will be made in Roselawn Memorial Park.
EUGENE GROVES, 85, of Denver, CO, formerly of Dana, died Wednesday at Denver. He was a member of the Arropaho Masonic Lodge No. 130, Eljebel Shrine, and the Colorado Consistory No. 1.
Surviving are two brothers, James Groves of Chicago, and Wayne Groves of North Carolina.
The body will be returned to the Kersey-Overpeck Funeral Home in Dana where friends may call after 6 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be held at 10 a..m. Monday at Bales Cemetery.
Mrs. CECIL O. GROVES, 72, of Clinton Route 3, died at the Vermillion County Hospital at 3:40 a.m. today following an extended illness.
Mrs. Groves was born April 2, 1896, in Green County, but had lived most of her lifetime in this area. The daughter of Wesley and Laura Carter Weaver, she was a member of the State Line Christian Church and her husband, William Groves, preceded her in death June 14, 1954.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Josephine) Robertson of Clinton, Route 2; 3 sons, Manford Groves of Sylmar, CA; Raymond Groves of Garden City, MI; and Robert Groves of Clinton Route 3; 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Ora Weaver of Rockville; Elza Weaver of Ventura, CA; and Clovis Weaver of St. Bernice; and a sister, Mrs. Rosie Vestal of Clinton, Route 3.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Frist Funeral Home with Rev. Leverett Hamrick officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Friends may call Friday afternoon for visitation.
Mrs. Goldie Groves, 57 of 232 Casey Avenue died at the Vermillion County hospital at 6:00 p.m. yesterday after an illness of six months. She is survived by the husband, Brownie; three brothers, Brownie Miller of Evansville, Ind; Ross Miller of Clinton, Ind; Roy Phoebe Ford of Rt 3, Clinton; a number of nieces and nephews. The body was taken to the Frist Funeral Home to remain until the time of the services at 10:00 a.m. Friday. Rev. Belva Skimore will officiate at the services and burial will be made in Walnut Grove cemetery. --

He was born Sept. 15, 1913, Mecca to Richard VonCleve Guinn and Elizabeth West Guinn. Survivors include his wife, Hester Hayes Guinn; three sons, Rev. Gale Guinn, Rev. Wayne Guinn, and Richard Guinn; one daughter, Marilyn Ford; one stepdaughter, Irma Cavaletto; one brother, Harry Guinn; 12 grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren.
