James Abraham Wishard

Newport Hoosier State, September 16, 1875, Vol 21 Issue #23
Contributed by Carolyn Schwab

James Abraham Wishard was born on Flat Rock, IN. Abraham presents a very striking appearance to a stranger. He never sees him once without wanting to see him again. He is of light complexion, sandy hair (always red), tall and very slim, and weighs 85 pounds. His features are very fine, hands slim, and fingers tapering, and he pinches his feet with a #12 boot. He was educated for the bar, but not having a relish for that, he turned to other things. He has engaged in many hazardous undertakings, none of which has been complete failures. Among them were banking, railroading, insurance and peddling books; at present he is known as a watch tinker. He has been 3 times married and has 9 children, and is about to stick his head into the hymenial halter again. We would advise him to go to Salt Lake City.
