The Hutchinsons were in Ohio, county unknown, before they moved to Indiana. It is believed that Mr. Hutchinson went ahead of his family and died enroute or just after his arrival in Terre Haute, Indiana. His wife and family were to join him later. He was buried at Fourth and Wabash in Terre Haute. The remains from this cemetery were moved in 1839 to Woodlawn Cemetery in Terre Haute. Several graves moved were unmarked/unknown. It is believed he is in one of the unmarked graves. Widowed mother, Susan or Susannah (Powers?) Hutchinson, arrived after her husband had died. She homesteaded in the Clinton or Helt's Prairie area of Vermillion Co., IN and was buried in Helt's Prairie Cemetery. Susannah Hutchinson is listed in the 1820 U.S. Census for Vigo County before that part of Vigo became Vermillion County. She is listed in the 1830 Census for Vermillion County Indiana.
UNKNOWN HUTCHINSON married Susan or Susannah POWERS ca 1800 in probably New England. Susan or Susannah was born ca 1780 in possibly Vermont. She died Apr 1830 in Vermillion Co., IN.
