In the name of God amen I Lewis Bible being weak in body, but sound in body and perfect mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say  First I reserve for myself and my beloved wife the home place we are now living on being three lots and forty acres fenced and ____ (crofted??) on the fraction during our natural lives together with all improvements, and after the death of Lewis Bible and wife then this farm place described above is for George Bible the youngest son.  Secondly I have given and bequeathed unto Betsey Johnson the daughter of the said Lewis Bible, she now living in Ohio the sum of five hundred dollars which is all she is to have during our natural lives.  Also I have given and bequeathed, unto my daughter Eve Whitlach now living in the State of Indiana the sum of Five hundred dollars which is all she is to have during our natural lives also I have given and bequeathed unto my son John Bible the sum of Three hundred dollars and further will that the said John Bible is to have two hundred dollars more when the said Lewis Bible shall think proper.  Also I have given and bequeathed unto my daughter Mary Hemphill now living in the State of Indiana the sum of five hundred dollars which is all she is to have during our natural lives.  Also I have given and bequeathed unto my daughter Sally single woman the sum of five hundred which is all she is to have during our natural lives. And lastly I will and bequeath after the death of said Lewis Bible and wife all my personal property after all the debts and expenses is paid unto my aforesaid children to be equally divided among them.  I hereby revoking all former wills by me made.  In witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal this thirtieth day of March in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and thirty six.

Signed sealed and published and declared by the above named Lewis Bible to be his last will and testament in the presents of us who have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses in the presence of the testator.

                                      ) On this 25 day of January AD 1864 personally appeared before me William R. Ellis clerk of the Common Pleas Court of Tippecanoe County in the State of Indiana Damas Wheeler one of the subscribing witnesses in the above and foregoing instrument of writing purporting to be the last will and testatment of Lewis Bible late of said county deceased and being by me duly sworn to testify to the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth concerning the execution of said last will and testament upon his oath aforesaid testifies as follows to wit: that  he saw the said Lewis Bible in his lifetime (but who is now deceased) sign his name to same as his last will and testament that he heard him declare the same to be his last will and testament that he subscribed his name thereto as a witness at the request of said testator in his presence and in the presence of Levi Wheeler the other subscribing witness thereto (who is also deceased) and that the said Lewis Bible at the time he so executed said last will and testament was of full age to devise his property and of sound mind and memory and not under the restraint or corercion of any person or persons whomsoever and further says not.

                                    ) I William R Ellis clerk of the Common Pleas Court of Tippecanoe County in the State of Indiana do hereby certify that the foregoing last will and testament of Lewis Bible (to which this is annexed) has been duly admitted to Probate that its due execution was this day proven by Damas Wheeler on of the subscribing witnesses to the same whose proof together with such will have been duly recorded in Will Record No 2. Pages
         In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of said Court at office in Lafayette on this 25 day of January AD 1864
