Charles G. Adams, county treasurer, Vevay, was born in Pleasant Township, January 26, 1848, and received a common school education. August 1, 1870, he engaged in business at Aaron, where he operated successfully till July 1, 1885, at which time he sold out, to move to Vevay, to prepare for and assume the duties of county treasurer, being elected to that office in November, 1884. Mr. Adams was married October 1, 1871, to Miss Mary J. Morrison, a native of Cotton Township, born July 26, 1853. By this union two children were born: George Chester, February 1, 1873; Charles Herbert, September 16, 1880. Mr. Adams was elected township trustee in Cotton Township, April 1, 1877, and served in that capacity up to 1881. He is a member of Bennington Lodge No. 257, F. & A.M and with his wife a member of the Methodist Church.
