SOUTH BEND - Raymond J. Zielinski, 77, of North O'Brien Street, died at 3:20 a.m. Sunday in Northwood Nursing after an illness. Mr. Zielinski retired from AM General Corp. in the accounts payable department after 14 years of service. He was born Sept. 6, 1916, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident

On Oct. 9, 1948, in South Bend, he married Helen Baranowski. She survives with two daughters, Bernadette Rayl of Lansing and Carolyn Faulstich of Plymouth; two sons, Damian and Alfred, both of South Bend; eight grandchildren; and two brothers, Ervin and Egbert E., both of South Bend. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Santa Maria Council 553, Century Club of St. Joseph's High School, and was a veteran of World War II.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Cross Catholic Church. Cremation will follow. There will be no vistation. Welsheimer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
