South Bend - Bernice M. Zielinski, 94, of Healthwin Hospital, formerly of Berkeley Place, died at 9 p.m. Monday at Healthwin. Mrs. Zielinski was a former self-employed seamstress. She was born Aug. 18, 1895, in Terre Coupee and was a life-long area resident. On Oct 6, 1913, in Terre Coupee, as Bernice Kwestorowski, she married Stanley I. Zielinski. He died Sept. 27, 1951. She is survived by a daughter, Jane Ast of New Carlisle; two sons, William F. and Bert C. both of South Bend; eight grandchildren; 17 great- grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and a sister, Lillian Winnicki of South Bend, A son, Casimir, died Sept. 12, 1971.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m.
