Alfred Wayne Zehendner

January 23, 1908 – September 10, 1982

Alfred Wayne Zehendner, 74, of 322 Rue Flambeau, died at 8:20am today in St Joseph’s Medical Center after a brief illness.  He retired form the Bendix Corp. in 1971.

He was born on January 23, 1908, in Auburn IN; and lived in South Bend since 1917.  On April 15, 1944, in South Bend, he married Mabel Smith.  She survives with a daughter, Mrs. Wanetta Strange of Greenwood IN; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Goldie Quimby of Dowagiac and Mrs. Dorothy Tuttorow of Lewisburg PA; and two brothers, Ralph of South Bend and Vigil of Baytown TX

Friends may call from 2 to5 and 6 to 8pm Sunday in the Hickey Funeral Home, 3516 E. Jefferson Blvd.  Zehendner was a member of Moose Lodge 58; Bendix Retirees Club; and Edwardsburg Legion Post 365.  Memorial contributions may be made to St Joseph County Cancer Society.
