John F. Zdoniak

John F. Zdoniak, age 88, of S. Grant
St., South Bend, died at 12:20 p.m., Thursday, in St. Joseph Care
Center. He was born on September 8, 1911, in South Bend and lived
in this area since 1930, coming from Poland. Mr. Zdoniak retired
from the former Studebaker Corporation after 28 years of service.
On April 24, 1937, in South Bend, he married
Chesterine A. (Ilczak) who survives. He is also survived
by a daughter, Mary Lou (Richard) Kuczmanski of South
Bend; four grandchildren, Sue Kuspa, Luanne (Rob) Korpal,
Eric (Dianna) Kuczmanski and John (Michele) Kuczmanski all of
South Bend; eight great grandchildren, Jason, Adam, and Stephanie
Kuspa, Ashley, Jared and Eric Korpal, and Jacob and Rachel
Kuczmanski; and by two sisters, Sabina and Mary, both of Poland.
Mr. Zdoniak was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Joanna
(Pankiewicz) Zdoniak; and by three brothers, Stanley,
Peter and Chester.
Family and friends may call from 2 p.m.
until 7 p.m., Sunday, in the ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S.
Mayflower Rd., where a rosary will be said at 4 p.m., Sunday.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, in St. Adalbert
Catholic Church, with burial to follow in the St. Joseph
Cemetery. Mr. Zdoniak was a member of the St. Joseph Young Mens
Society, and the Polish National Alliance Lodge #83.
