GRANGER - Louis C. Zabona Sr., 70, of Granger, died
Thursday, September 4, 2008, at home after a courageous battle
with cancer. He was born June 1, 1938, in Indianapolis, to the
late Carl and Leona (Turner) Zabona and had been a
resident of northern Indiana and Cape Coral, FL for many years.
On June 10 1961, he married Sandra (White) Zabona, who
survives. He is also survived by his two children, Jane A. Lees
of New Braunfels, TX and Louis C. Zabona, Jr. (and Regina) of
LaGrange, IN; five grandchildren, Lance, Paige and Lauren Lees
and Trey and Jenna Zabona; and three step-grandchildren, Jarred,
Kelsie and Emma Leggett. Lou had been in the manufactured
housing industry for over 35 years and owned LS & Associates
for the past 15 years He graduated from Cathedral High School in
Indianapolis and attended Xavier University, Cincinnati, OH. Some
of his greatest joys were spending time with his family, boating
on the Great Lakes and playing golf at Morris Park Country Club
with friends.
Friends may visit with the family from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday September 8 at McGann Hay Funerals | Cremations | Gatherings, Granger Chapel, 13260 SR 23 (enter off Cherry Rd.), Granger, IN 46530. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2008, at St. Pius X Church, 52553 Fir Road, Granger, IN 46530, where an additional visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. He will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery in LaGrange, IN. Contributions may be made in his memory to St. Pius X Education Center, 52553 Fir Road, Granger, IN 46530 or to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46567.
