LAKEVILLE - Joseph Myron
"Butch" Youngs, Jr., residing in Lakeville, IN,
passed away at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2007 in his home,
following a courageous battle with cancer. He was 65 years old.
He was born February 24, 1942, in South Bend, the son of Joseph
Myron and Norma (Wilson) Youngs, and was a lifelong
resident of South Bend and Lakeville. He graduated from Greene
Township High School. He was a member of the International Union
of Operating Engineers Local 150 for 38 years, and was employed
as a heavy equipment operator for 36 years with Ritschard
Brothers, Inc.
On October 16, 1993, at his home in
Lakeville, he was united in marriage to Doris J. Farkas
who survives. Also surviving are his daughter and son-in-law,
Tracy Lynn and Benjie Shult of Osceola; his son and
daughter-in-law, Gregory Robert and Julie Youngs of Plymouth, and
his step-daughter and her husband, Linda and Charles Querry
of Mishawaka. Three grandchildren, Olivia Shult, Amanda and Sarah
Youngs survive Butch as well. He was preceded in death by his
parents and a brother Bobbie Lee Youngs. Mr. Youngs was a member
of Maple Grove United Methodist Church, South Bend, Lakeville
Lodge #353, F. & AM, American Legion Post 363, Lakeville, and
the Gypsy Rovers.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday,
December 31, 2007, at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel,
3718 So. Michigan St., South Bend. Rev. Michael Jenkins will
officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn
Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Sunday at the funeral home, and one hour prior to services
Monday. Contributions in memory of Mr. Youngs may be offered to
