SOUTH BEND - Jane J. Youngs, 78, of South Bend, passed away at 3:15 a.m. Thursday Aug. 21 in her residence after a courageous battle with cancer. Mrs. Youngs was born on January 22, 1930, in Plymouth, and resided in the Michiana area her lifetime. On February 18, 1947, in Crown Point, IN, as Jane J. Leippert, she married Robert E. Youngs Sr. who survives.Also surviving are a daughter, Gail A. (Ernie) Nybo of Plymouth; and three sons, Robert E. (Donna) Young's Jr. of Walkerton, Barry O. (Barbara) Youngs of South Bend and Kurt D. (Mary) Youngs of Granger; also 10 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren who she loved and cherished. Mrs. Youngs was a homemaker, a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who cherished her family as they did her. She loved cooking, baking and bowling. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Leippert; and a sister, June Witt. Jane was an auxiliary member of the St. Joseph County Police Lodge #155 and the Maennerchor Club. Mrs. Youngs requested to be cremated which her loving family honored.
