Martha B. Young, 83, of West Reo Avenue, in South Bend, Ind., passed away on Friday, Feb. 1, in her home. Martha was born on June 22, 1918, in North Liberty, Ind., to the late Ralph and Lura (Conrick) Leonard. She retired from RACO in 1984.

On Aug. 15, 1942, as Martha B. Leonard, she married Robert R. Young, who preceded her in death on May 19, 1989. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Loretta Rohrer on Jan. 10, 2000; and by a son, Robert L. Young on May 18, 1977; and by a sister, Mary Leonard, and a brother, John Leonard. She is survived by daughters, Rebecca (Michael) Lambert of South Bend and Pamela Young of South Bend; sons, Rocky (Ruthann) Young of Mason, Mich., and David (Danette) Young of South Bend; 14 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; sisters, Cora Crothers of Bremen, Ind., Hazel Holmes of Arizona and Susan Leroy of Mill Creek, Ind.; a brother, Charles Leonard of Niles, Mich.; a daughter-in-law, Diane Young of South Bend; and by a son-in-law, Norman Rohrer Sr. of South Bend.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
