Homer C. Young

MISHAWAKA - Homer C. Young, 82, of Berry Avenue, died at 12:20 p.m. Monday in St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend, after an illness. Mr. Young retired in 1972 from the former Bendix Corp. as an inspector after 30 years of service. He was born June 9, 1912, in Niles, and was a lifelong area resident.

On Dec. 28, 1946, in South Bend, he married Melvina Andrysiak. She survives with two daughters, Sandra Bickel of Mishawaka and Gail Tschida of South Bend; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Helen Smith of Osceola and Mary Endrody of Mishawaka. He was a veteran of World War II.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Monica's Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Hickey Funeral Home, 3516 E. Jefferson Blvd., South Bend, where a parish rosary will be said at 3:45 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
