MISHAWAKA - Leroy Yates, 58, of Milburn Boulevard, died at 2:15 p.m. Monday in his home after an illness. Mr. Yates was employed by Hass Concrete, South Bend, for 19 years. He was born Aug. 19, 1935, in Providence, Ky., and lived in Mishawaka most of his life. On Aug. 19, 1956, in South Bend, he married Shirley A. Barnaby. She survives, with two daughters, Debra L. Lyvers of Mishawaka and Tracy Ann Yates at home; four sons, Dennis R., James M., David A. and Joseph L., all of Mishawaka; 13 grandchildren; his mother, Mamie Yates of Mishawaka; and six sisters, Edith Barnes of Truman, Ark., Margaret Greenway, Juanita K. Greenway and Brenda Stout, all of Fayetteville, Tenn., and Susie Johns and Sheila Ford, both of Mishawaka.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Hahn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc.
